The Codfish Aquarium 9th Anniversary

2022/01/15 a 2022/01/16
Aniversario aquario 1 772 9999

In the final stage of the visit to the Maritime Museum of Ílhavo, the arrival at the Codfish Aquarium, which was added to the museum in 2013, is like "icing on the cake". Between January 15th and 16th, we commemorate the 9th anniversary of this amazing habitat which completes the history of the Faina Maior, told throughout the visit to the museum. After all, the codfish is the great motivation for what is one of the greatest adventures of the Portuguese - cod fishing in the icy seas of the North Atlantic. The 9th anniversary of the Codfish Aquarium is another opportunity to get to know this fantastic animal, the Gadus morhua species, the Atlantic cod, considered our traditional cod, the one that the Portuguese have been fishing for and consuming for several centuries. Much of the commemorative weekend's schedule is dedicated to families, but there is also time for the opening of two new exhibitions and for a conversation about the impact of climate changes.
