The 8th edition of Argos - Magazine of the Ílhavo Maritime Museum - is already available at the online store of the Ílhavo City Hall and at the main bookstores in the country.
Dedicated to the theme "Fisheries, Fishing Communities and Heritage", this issue of the magazine was coordinated by Álvaro Garrido. Highlights of the eighth issue include the latest interview with António Duarte Pinho, one of the main public decision-makers in the fisheries sector in recent years in Portugal; the visual record of Hélder Luís and his exhibition Atlântico; and the maritime museum experience brought to us by Norway's Museum Nord.
This publication covers the multiple dimensions and perspectives that the theme of fisheries has in museums and in heritage practices. At a time when maritime museums are beginning to take on other project challenges, in particular the challenge of "Ocean Literacy", reworking the fisheries heritage issue and combining global, national and local approaches is a good call.
The launch of this edition (Âncora Editora), which happened later than planned due to the Covid-19 pandemic, coincides with World Water Day, which the Ílhavo Maritime Museum marks with a series of online publications on the social networks Facebook and Instagram.
