The exhibition “Transparencies of the Lagoon and the Sea”, by Cândido Teles, results from the donation, by the family, of 121 works from the first pictorial period of the local artist. A set of works that reveal the beauty of each and every corner of the Lagoon: boats moliceiros, salt marines, the Costa Nova beach and the xávega boats emerge splendidly in his works, where he portrays them softly, making the shades of blue stand out from the chromatic palette in contrast to warmer tones, almost watery, as if transparencies.
Detailed information on the collection will be available at the digital table “Cândido Teles: A local painter”, supported by the ProMuseus program, funded by DGPC.
The exhibition opens on August 8, in commemoration of the 83rd Anniversary of the Maritime Museum of Ílhavo
