2020/08/08 a 2020/08/09
Site 2 1 772 2500 1 772 9999

On the 83rd anniversary, the Maritime Museum of Ílhavo starts a preamble to the celebration of the centenary of Cândido Teles, in 2021. In this context, on August 8, the exhibition “Transparencies of the Lagoon and the Sea” opens, which results from the donation, by family, of 121 works from the first pictorial period of the local artist. On the MMI social networks, the photographic project “The Quiet Man”, by Alexandre Sampaio, which dialogues with the work of the painter and sculptor Cândido Teles, will be launched, in the representations that he built about Costa Nova.
On the 9th of August the visits "Senses of the Sea" return, with a pedestrian route, on the theme “Cândido Teles: Costa Nova as you have (almost) never seen it…” - a trip that will allow you to rediscover the Costa Nova beach through the eyes of the local artist.
MMI's anniversary celebrations will also be marked by an offer of a work by the Association of Friends of the MMI, which will enrich the Museum's collection and which can be contemplated in the commemorative session.
