7th Anniversary of the Codfish Aquarium

2020/01/11 a 2020/01/12
Aquario 1 772 2500 1 772 9999

The Cod Aquarium celebrates its 7th anniversary on January 11 and 12. Part of the Museum's exhibition route, the Codfish Aquarium completes Faina Maior's historical and memorial discourse offering the public a knowledge and leisure experience through an attractive exhibition of biological heritage dedicated to the species Gadus morhua, the Atlantic cod, considered “Our cod”, the one that the Portuguese have been fishing and consuming for centuries.

The Maritime Museum has prepared a commemorative program that includes, on the 11th, a yoga class for families, a scientific illustration workshop, a visit to the temporary exhibition "Tongue-Twister", an artistic performance based on the tale "The Girl of the Sea", by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, and a Sea Talking session about fisheries, the sea and climate change.

On Sunday, the 12th, it will reserve a special visit that will reveal the technical details of the functioning of the Codfish Aquarium and will also allow a free visit to the Maritime Museum and the Santo André Ship-Museum (between 14h00 and 18h00).

The activities that integrate the program are all free but limited and require prior registration, through visitas.mmi@cm-ilhavo.pt or by 234 329 990.
