On August 8, Ílhavo Maritime Museum celebrates the 82nd anniversary of its founding, which took place in 1937. On this day, admission is free to the MMI and the public will have multiple reasons to visit it with guided tours. Special visit to the Museum stocks and special visit Diver for a day. Taking full advantage of the context of the Cod Festival (which runs from 7 to 11 August) and of the largest influx of tourists in the bathing season, from 8 to 11 August there will be free public transportation between Barra and Costa Nova beaches, passing by the Ship-Museum Santo André and stopping at the Maritime Museum.
In the first half of this year, the Ship-Museum Santo André and the Maritime Museum recorded 46 832 visitors (5 069 more than in the same period of 2018). Comparing the months of June of the last decade, June 2019 recorded the second highest number of visitors of the last decade (11 165), only surpassed by the records of June 2017.
